To be Silent is the most difficult of the 4 tenets of a Witches Pyramid as we all love to communicate. To keep a secret is the most difficult and sacred of duties. In this, the things we must keep silent about historically has been who are your fellow Witches, never to disclose them, unless they choose to disclose themselves. To be a public witch is a difficult task, and many do not choose this. No one else has a right to do so. It goes deeper as well for sexuality, personal behaviors, and many other traits we may not know about publicly. Unless the behavior or trait will bring true harm to others, we have no right to present it to the public.  So here silence is essential to a Witch and her circle.

Another aspect is the services of a Witch, to do a reading or cast a spell for another. Here silence about what you did or read for a client regardless if it was free or for fee is essential to trust and best behavior. This is hard and many violate this, usually to other practitioners under the guise of professional treatment.  In truth, we love to tell tales that bring us either attention or status, sometimes both. But silence brings trust.

Silence about your own actions, your own spells, your own goals, are important. You can tell others and they will either add to your strength, to take away from your strength, or even block your strength. One’s actions are greatest when they bring awe and surprise, and unless you need support its best to do as much preparation in silence. Then when ready, To Dare, comes in and your act of will manifests. So remember trust is the core of To be Silent.

Assignment: There is no true test if you can keep silent. So this is all about inner control and developing trust.
